School Program for Special Needs and Gifted Children in First Nations Communities with Occupational Therapy Support
This program is designed to provide a holistic educational approach for special needs and gifted children, integrating the expertise of an Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in sensory integration, neurosciences, yoga, and human development. The OT will work closely with children to help them regulate their sensory processing, enhance their cognitive development, and support emotional well-being. The program combines academic instruction with therapeutic strategies that help children with special needs or gifts to thrive in both school and life.
By integrating First Nations cultural perspectives and values, the program aims to create an environment that fosters personal, academic, and emotional growth in a culturally affirming space. This program emphasizes sensory regulation, cognitive flexibility, and personal empowerment, helping children develop their fullest potential.
