If you live in a village, or are responsible for one, you know there’s nothing simple about it. Everything is connected and everyone is watching. Clean drinking water, enough housing, good jobs, youth programs, services and amenities.
We work in communities like this because the work is real. It matters that things function, that people are supported, and that there is something solid to pass on.
That means reliable services. Building businesses and tourism that bring in revenue, figuring out what the community needs and helping make it happen, and reworking systems so they work in a way people can depend on. Bringing in the right professionals where needed, supporting the development of strong local talent, and creating real opportunities for young people.
Rural communities don’t need more strategies. They need people in their corner, willing to do the work. So we built a business model where we could better serve our customers, and we committed to working alongside communities to figure out what will actually work, using what’s there and building from it.
Where we started
Inge Development began through hands on work building programs, partnerships, and opportunities in complex, real-world environments. Early work focused on testing ideas in practice, adapting quickly, and creating impact with the resources available.
Where we are
Today, we work in rural communities, combining experience from public, private,
and international contexts. Our approach is grounded in working alongside communities and partners to deliver practical, place-based solutions that are designed to function in real-world conditions.
Where we're going
Looking ahead, we want to keep strengthening communities and building systems that help people and ideas move forward. Our goal is to keep the work grounded, useful, and connected to what communities actually need.
