Our Decorative Wrap Grant Program provides financial assistance to municipal governments, regional districts and First Nations communities looking to improve the visual aesthetics of a neighbourhood by installing decorative wraps on BC Hydro-owned pad-mounted equipment boxes

More so than ever before, Canadians are feeling the direct and indirect impacts of wildfire. There is a growing need for FireSmart education. FireSmart Canada has developed a FREE one-hour course for those who are getting started with FireSmart and want to learn more.

FireSmart 101 provides 

• An introduction to FireSmart and its principles 

• Helps participants understand the need to protect homes and properties from wildfire 

• Defines the wildland urban interface 

• Outlines the seven FireSmart disciplines 

• Explains the FireSmart the home ignition zone.

There’s a short quiz at the end to ensure participants understand the material. FireSmart 101 empowers residents to take action!

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has granted its Safe Travels stamp to Northern British Columbia. This specially designed stamp allows travelers to recognize destinations and tourism businesses around the world which have adopted globally standardized health and hygiene protocols so visitors can experience safe travels. Tourism stakeholders in Northern BC can apply for use of the Safe Travels stamp below. Eligible businesses will be able to use the stamp for their own promotion once they have met the health and hygiene protocols outlined by the WTTC.
