Navigating Bureaucracy: Executive Functioning Support (Paperwork, Applications, Communication)
This course is designed to support individuals, particularly youth and adults from diverse backgrounds, in navigating complex bureaucratic systems. It focuses on developing essential executive functioning skills needed to manage tasks such as filling out paperwork, handling applications, and communicating effectively with institutions and organizations. Students will gain the confidence and strategies to tackle bureaucratic challenges in education, healthcare, housing, employment, and social services. With a focus on organization, planning, and time management, this course provides hands-on support for individuals who may struggle with complex tasks and systems.
The course will help individuals build life skills to tackle real-world administrative challenges and enhance their ability to independently manage required documentation. It also incorporates strategies for improving self-advocacy and effective communication when dealing with government agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and other bureaucratic institutions.
