About
Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) provides the Skills Training, Employment and Post Secondary (STEPS) program. This funding offers a range of support programs for Métis trainees, job seekers and scholars. Help is available to upgrade skills, get advice on job searches, or to continue education. These supports increase employment potential, earning capacity and self-sufficiency for Métis Peoples in British Columbia. The program was formerly called the Métis Employment and Training Program (METP).

Eligible Applicants

Métis Peoples are eligible if they:
Are 15 years of age or older
Have documentation proving they have an established residency in B.C.
Are unemployed, under-employed, self-employed, or employed and their work environment is subject to change or elimination due to technological or market change
Applicants must also meet specific program eligibility criteria. Check MNBC’s website (DOC, 1.2MB) for specific requirements.
